Long day's journey into night.
General TV series !Yay! And one !Nay!

Last episode of True Blood. They got the Swedish right. I didn't have to read the English subtexts to undertand them. Well done. (This is the nay if you wonder)

The Vampire Diaries are up and running again. Major entertainment to be had the coming weekends. TVD on Thursdays and Supernatural on Fridays. That makes it two stellar shows for me to watch on Saturdays.

Channel 9 here is for now showing CSI Miami every weeknight. Big H is never wrong. Kids and I are chasing one liners. So far there is a tie between - wait for it - Dean and Sam Winchester in the season 5 epsiode  Changing Channels.

'I say; jackpot!'                            Sam
'I say,  no guts, no glory!'          Dean

Come on, Horatio! Bring it.

'Five minutes ago, it was the safest job ever. Now it's turned into a bad day in Bosnia.'
Not from a TV series. A shiny goldstar to anyone who can tell which film the quote is from.

Well you know who I'm gonna choose. It's gotta be Sam and Dean. Hmm... but it's sort of sad, I don't watch any of the shows you mentioned in the post except SPN. Can you believe it. I never got into True Blood or Vampire Diaries. I know there must be something wrong with me.

Other than SPN I have like 4 shows that I watch. Leverage (must admit I watch it for Chris Kane), White Collar (yet another bromance), Merlin (Oh wait, do we see a common theme here?), and NCIS (original haven't gotten into LA yet). I've pretty much stopped watching everything else. And heck 3 out of 5 of those are linked through the actors one way or another. Of course Jensen and Chris are good friends, not to mention that Aldis was on SPN. Then there's Micheal Weatherly on NCIS, who was on Dark Angel with Jensen. I'm so predictable.

Hehe, six degrees of Jensen there.

I've missed out on all the shows you mention. I'm sticking with the vamps. I read all the True Blood books during summer hols, and I can tell you the show is better. Never read TVD. But still, Supernatural is my favourite.

I think other than SPN I've really gotten out of the whole vampires, demons, and such genre. I've more gotten into crime dramas and such. Well as long as they've got a fun twist to them. White Collar is really my favorite out of the ones I mentioned. And not just for the beautiful eye candy that Matt Bomer and Tim Dekay represent. I even love the storyline. Really I do.

It's hard to keep up with all the good shows here. I'm living in a backwater :(
If I want to watch anything I almost always have to DL it. And if it's showing, it's so darned late I can't sit up and wait for it. CSI Miami runs at 8 pm.
And also, I'm hopelessly addicted to all and anything with vamps, and werewolves and other weird stuff.

Just like you, most everything is on too late so I end up downloading it otherwise I'd never get to watch it all. What's bad is that I'm so far behind on all the shows I want to watch that I'll never get to actually watch a season when it airs. I think SPN, White Collar, and Bones are the only ones that I'm caught up on. Oh and Merlin, but I'm wondering if it's gonna get canceled. SyFy bought it but there's no announcements on when a new season will be out. That will be a bummer. It's the only fantasy show I'm still watching.

I can barely keep up with anything ::curses backwater TV::
DLing mnakes me nervous since it's illegal, but I do it anyway. Need my fixes.Stat!
I'm not watching Merlin, it's something with Merlin's ears, they make me break into shudders. And they are messing with the Original!Arthur tale. More shudders. But I dont' think it'll get canceled in a good while, it's a big hit.
meluivan_indilmeluivan_indil on September 20th, 2010 01:31 am (UTC)
Hmm, if it's such a big hit why did the BBC sell it to SyFy? That doesn't make sense to me. And you know, before I started watching Merlin his ears bothered me too. But then I just didn't think about it and got so wrapped up in it that I couldn't stop watching. And Merlin's character is so adorable that you just want to wrap him in a hug and take care of him. Now as far as the whole Arthurian legend I've tried to separate it from this show. I don't think of it as Arthur's story really. To me it's just a story about two young men of totally opposite stations forging a friendship that goes against political accepted norms. And add the whole fact that one of them has to keep the secret of his magic to keep alive, and try to keep the other one alive without revealing his secret and you have quite the intriguing story.

You know, I have not a clue. Odd.

No, can't get into it. It's the ears. Mostly. And sometimes I'm such a literature nerd I can't let go. The Arthur saga is done one way, period.
I got the same shudders when they made some stupid movei version with Guinivere painted blue and wearing leather straps. Boudicca, is all I'm saying, that would have made sense. Don't mess it up.
Sorry! Nerd moment over.

That's fine hon. We all have our hangups and things that we don't think should ever be messed with. For the most part my thing is remaking classic movies. Now when I say classic movies I'm not really talking about the classics. I'm talking about the movies that I loved as a kid. Or tv shows for that matter. I hated the Clash of the Titans remake. I hated the most recent Friday the 13th, even with Jared P in it. I hated the My Bloody Valentine remake, even with Jensen in it. I won't even watch the A-Team movie that recently came out. I'm still debating the Nightmare on Elm street remake. I'm completely faithful to Robert Englund and think I'll hate the new one. I'm just not a remake kind of girl. Actually the only remake that has come out in the past few years that I did like was Star Trek. And it was more of an alternate reality type thing then a remake. So yeah, I guess that sort of makes me a nerd too.
Vesta: twitchy3biggelois on September 25th, 2010 05:56 am (UTC)
I believe we are in total agreement here, aside from the Clash of the Titans. I didn't know it was a remake, but I wasn't that happy with it anyway. To much fuckery with the original myth. I watched MBV and F13 for the eyecandy, but dang those films were terrible.
I'm staying as far away as possible from Terror on Elm Street. Don't mess with my Freddy!
meluivan_indilmeluivan_indil on September 25th, 2010 07:12 pm (UTC)
The original Clash of the Titans was cheesy as hell, but as an 8 year old you don't really notice these things. But it at least had a lot more dialogue and I loved the whole Calabos angle, which they mostly glossed over or got rid of in the remake.

And I'm sorry, but you just can not replace Robert Englund. That man is the king of horror as far as I'm concerned.

I knew you and I thought a lot alike.
