Short day! Yay!
Lessons from 8.10 am to 11.50 am, straight. Lunch. Lesson from 12.50 pm to 14.00 pm. Done! Worktime until 14.30 pm. I stayed only until 15.30. One single, sad hour overtime. That's good, yeah? That I have to do all the lesson-planning, preparing, correcting and the lot after school hours doesn't count, do it?

Two days in a row I've brought the camera on my way to work. It's September you know. Means fog! Pictures I've got, mmyes.

I like fog. There was low-lying mist this morning. No camera.
Vesta: twitchy1biggelois on September 1st, 2011 06:41 pm (UTC)
Tuesday morning I went to work without camera. The most amazing mist was all over the place. I am so hauling the camera with me for the next two weeks. Better safe than sorry.

What is the picture in your icon? A dandelion? A bullfrog?
Vesta: September1biggelois on September 2nd, 2011 03:11 am (UTC)
I hope my dictionary isn't telling me strange things; it's a fly agaric.
nrrrdy_grrrl on September 2nd, 2011 10:29 am (UTC)
I'm just going to tell myself it's a hedgehog.
Vesta: September1biggelois on September 2nd, 2011 04:17 pm (UTC)
You do that. Hedgehogs are much nicer than poisonous mushrooms. We have a couple around here. Hedgehogs that is. Sometimes they wander amiss and end up on our porch. They pee a lot when they get scared.
nrrrdy_grrrl on September 2nd, 2011 04:32 pm (UTC)
Aw! I have a soft spot for anything that pees in fear because I had a rescue dog who did that when we first got him! Awwwww!
Vesta: sötisbiggelois on September 2nd, 2011 04:52 pm (UTC)
So do I. They are so cute, the little hedgehogs. There is a family that seems to stick around here. Early summer we have the teeny, tiny ones stumbling around.
nrrrdy_grrrl on September 2nd, 2011 05:13 pm (UTC)
OMG. You're just throwing that icon at me with the notion of tiny baby hedgehogs because you're trying to make me explode like a big exploding girly cuteness thing. I have no defense against that!
Vesta: sötisbiggelois on September 2nd, 2011 06:55 pm (UTC)
They are so tiny! And they fall over if they stumble on a grass straw that is too long for them. Baby hedgehogs are the cutest ever. There is no defense at all against them. I'm thick-skinned and badass but you'll hear me go 'aaawww' over baby hedgehogs.
nrrrdy_grrrl on September 2nd, 2011 07:44 pm (UTC)
Okay, now you're just torturing me.

Vesta: sötisbiggelois on September 3rd, 2011 02:49 pm (UTC)
Oh my god! That is cuteness overload. I need to go make pancakes, word is that hedgehogs like pancakes.
nrrrdy_grrrl on September 3rd, 2011 02:55 pm (UTC)
I see a trend. We have developed a very bizarre and somehow utterly unmacho one upsmanship. Sometimes it's men and their nipples, sometimes it's cute baby hedgehogs and then there was some other thing the other day.

I. Like it. But I am puzzled? Curious? Bemused? As to how it came about.
Vesta: Sam7biggelois on September 3rd, 2011 03:15 pm (UTC)
Hmm, you're right. I don't have a clue either how it came to this. But I find it a brilliant pastime. You're fun to talk with :)

Re: okay, not cute but...
Awww! I find cuteness in it! Does it, by any chance, pee when freaked out???
Vesta: sötis2biggelois on September 3rd, 2011 05:10 pm (UTC)
Re: okay, not cute but...
It's just a little bigger than a bumblebee,mehtinks.
Eeeh, I think it releases 'something'when freaked out. Birds tend to do everything at the same time.
Once upon a time when I visited the island of Guadaloupe I saw hummingbirds the size of bumblebees. Incredibly tiny. And fast!

Re: okay, not cute but...
My friend's family has dangling flower pots on their front porch and I got to watch a hummingbird eat from the flowers. I didn't even realize we had any in my part of the country!

Re: okay, not cute but...
Hummingbirds are on par with the cooleness of bumblebees. Be careful with the hummingbirds.

baby otters!

Re: baby otters!
Otters? Really?
Another tale from my youth; Thailand, PeePee Island. They had a rescue!otter at the diner there. I've petted an actual baby otter and fed it milk from a bottle. It was way bigger than these sweeties though.

BABY OTTER FEEDING!

Wait. Pee Pee Island?
Vesta: sötis2biggelois on September 3rd, 2011 05:29 pm (UTC)
Re: baby otters!
Baby!otter was very cute and very angry when it didn't get the milk on time.

Yeah, Pee Pee.Koh PeePee. I know, weird. Look it up. It's one of the big tourist meccas nowadays. When I went, it was a backpacker's paradise. We rented a bungalow for under a dollar a night. Diner owner's kid came and got us for mealtimes and for when the baby!otter needed feeding and she didn't have the time.

I need you to touch up my grammar.

Re: baby otters!
I was thinking about Jack Harkness this morning as I struggled to hand-wash the gigantic canvas slip cover that goes over a huge comfy chair I own.

Don't ask me why getting in the tub with my pants rolled up my calves and toiling over 10 pounds of fabric made me think of Torchwood.

I was thinking: I wonder if they'll kill him in the next episode. Then I thought; he's too old to play Jack anymore. I mean, is it that Jack never ages or that he ages so slowly that it takes ten million years for him to become the Face of Bo?

Then I was thinking: OMG, Hugh Jackman has got to stop making Wolverine movies after this next one. All that surfing on the Aussie coast he did as a teenager is really asserting itself. In any other role, he looks gorgeous, but I was looking at pictures from the first two X-Men movies compared to the last two films where he played Logan and thinking: jesus, he really gets all ripped like a comicbook hero now when he plays Wolverine. He didn't used to be quite so extreme about it.

And that's when I realized: Oh, I bet he does that to over-compensate about looking older while playing a dude who doesn't age.

I think Christian Kane should play him from now on.

Re: baby otters!
I've been washing up canvas slips too, you think of anything that keeps you from thinking about what you're actually doing then. Torchwood is a good choice :)
They can't kill Jack until the last episode, I hope at least.
But you know what bugs me? That you have me think and do actual research. I had to look up the 'Face of Bo'. Jack will never!, I tell you never!, look like that.
As for Hugh he has to compete with the young ones. I guess the same goes for male as female actors these days; look young, ripped and fresh or you're out or someone's mother.

Christian Kane? That guy from Entourage? Njaaaa...

Re: baby otters!
No, Christian Kane, Jensen Ackles' friend. He's on Leverage and he used to be on Angel.

Well, thank you! I am baffled by how upset fandom folks on DeviantArt get about manips. Unless they're porn, people give me crap; It looks like a photo.

IT IS A PHOTO!

I'm just a misunderstood PG-13 fangirl.

Re: i probably showed you this already.
Well, if you tell it's a a manip, why shout about it? Appreciate the work put into the picture instead. Doing manips is nothing you manage on your coffeebreak.
It's like when people tell me that working with digital photos is just to 'play', to do any real film development you need 'proper' film and negatives. That it can sometims be more difficult to deal with all the alernatives Photoshop offers is of no importance.
Short: people who don't know what they are talking about make the most noise.
Another short: people are idiots. But that's just me being bitter.
